MARKET NEWS

The outdoor market season draws to a close. This will be the last week for Wellstone Farm and Chef for You.

Ned, the King Bee, reorganized his schedule and Bee Happy will be at this week's AND next week's markets.

Shannon's Jammin' Jams liked our market so much that she returns this week!

Auntie Arwen also returns this week.

Don't forget to order your Thanksgiving turkey from Gourmavian Farms. Eleanore, the chicken lady, will have ordered turkeys available at our Thanksgiving indoor market.

We have one indoor market in 2014 on Sunday, November 23 from 1 to 4 pm in the Community Center!

One of our favorite market musicians, Bill Benson, wants to record his first studio CD. Please support Bill!

About Us
The Higganum Village Farmers' Market supports local farmers and artisans by making Connecticut Grown farm-fresh foods and products available to shoppers on a weekly basis.

The market is held on the Higganum Green every Friday from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm. from the beginning of June through the end of October. Please review the calendar for specifics.

Buying locally conserves resources by reducing shipping and packaging and providing fresher food without or with less preservatives. Additionally, you help save valuable Connecticut farmland, which is increasingly being lost to residential and commercial sprawl.

Founded in 2008, the Higganum Village Farmers' Market began as a group effort of several Haddam residents to promote the center of Higganum and renew a sense of community.

The Market Board would like to thank the town of Haddam, the Connecticut Department of Agriculture, and Haddam/Killingworth Parks and Recreation for their cooperation and support.
